Less Downtime: Fewer Shutdowns for Cleaning
When scale keeps building up under a chemical programme, chillers, condensers and tower fill need mechanical or acid cleaning, and every cleaning means a shutdown. Non-chemical treatment removes the scale in the EST reaction chambers instead of letting it deposit on the equipment, so there is little or no cleaning downtime.
What the data shows
- At one client site, after 6 months more than 50 kg of scale was collected in the four EST reaction tanks. None of it deposited in the pipes, cooling towers, pumps, valves or chillers.
- The same site reported about 40% less maintenance.
- At Tec de Monterrey, chiller approach temperatures stayed low without cleaning, instead of rising as under the previous chemical programme.
Cleaning the EST reaction tanks is a routine service. The system is side-stream, so it installs without intervention in the existing system, and it can be monitored remotely through SCADA.
