New SCADA at United Nations – Bangkok
In October 2025 the Elgressy EST water treatment system at the United Nations building in Bangkok received a new SCADA monitoring and control system. EST has protected this cooling plant without chemicals since 2013; the new SCADA gives the facility team a clearer, real-time view of the whole system.

What the new SCADA shows
The main screen shows a 3D overview of the plant: the four cooling towers, the EST reactors, pumps, valves and pipework. For each EST unit (EST-1 and EST-2) the operator sees live:
- pH and conductivity of the cooling water
- Reactor voltage and current
- Pump, drain valve and dosing pump status
- High-pH alarm and fault status
The screen also shows outdoor conditions and the chilled-water supply and return temperatures, so water treatment and chiller performance can be watched together.
Why it matters
- Problems are seen early: alarms and fault messages appear the moment a value goes out of range.
- Less guesswork: the team can confirm at a glance that every EST reactor is running and draining correctly.
- Records for audits: trends of pH, conductivity and power support reporting for green building certification and sustainability goals.
The earlier SCADA
The site has used Elgressy SCADA for years. The previous process screen showed the four EST reactors with their scraper motors, drain and return valves, two circulation pumps and the four cooling towers, with separate pages for process variables, alarms, alarm events and graphs. The 2025 upgrade keeps these functions in a more modern, easier-to-read interface.
