The volume of Scale from cooling tower after 5 days

To measure how much scale Elgressy EST takes out of the cooling water, this client installed a scale filter on the EST discharge. After only 5 days of operation the filter already held a large volume of scale.

Why this matters

Every kilogram of scale collected by EST is a kilogram that does not deposit on chiller condenser tubes, heat exchangers and pipes. Scale on condenser tubes raises the approach temperature and energy use, and causes under-deposit corrosion.

This is the visible proof that sets electrolysis apart from devices that only claim to “change” scale: with EST you can see, weigh and measure the hardness removed from your water.

How EST works: Elgressy EST treats a side stream of the cooling water by controlled electrolysis. Calcium hardness precipitates as solid scale inside the EST reactors and is removed, instead of depositing on chiller condensers, heat exchangers and pipes.
